Healthcare has become increasingly complex with multiple sources of information and an ever-increasing number of treatment options. Traditionally, your physician would help you understand the options and guide you in treatment choices. For a multitude of reasons, people are often left feeling under informed despite the best efforts of their medical team.

 

After practicing Internal Medicine and Geriatrics for 37 years, I retired towards the end of 2024. During my time away from Medicine, I have had many conversations with friends, family and acquaintances who feel lost, don’t understand the issues or even how to ask. This can be about themselves, a partner or an aging loved one. The need to bridge this information gap is obvious.

 

Kaner Medical Consulting PLLC is a service aimed to fill this need. Offering 30 minute phone or telemedicine visits to Washington State residents, my goal is to meet people at their level to discuss their medical concerns, educate them further about those issues as well as explaining how the system works and how to navigate it so they can move forward. My hope is that this will provide a better understanding that leads to more focused questions, better communication with their medical team and an ability to more effectively advocate for themselves or their loved ones.

 

I do not provide medical care, triage medical problems, diagnose or provide second opinions. I strive to educate with the purpose of facilitating your understanding and enhance your communication with your medical team. The ultimate goal is to be a more active and effective partner in your care.
